When the Sugar Plum Fairy meets frothy dreams shimmering amongst tinkling silver wedding bells you’ve stepped into the whimsy and art of Ines di Santo. This fall 2020 the designer’s collection ‘Under The Impression’ explores the transformation of color and texture of the Impressionist art movement with magical and airy fabrics that shift and veil and unveil in unexpected ways.
From delicate tones of white and crème to shocking shades of cherry, cobalt and purple, Ines di Santo chose a prismatic palette for her couture collection. And, this year marks her inaugural debut collaboration with the esteemed Italian shoe maison Bruno Magli. All of the elegant footwear worn on the runway was from her collection to be released this year. They flatter the bride and keep the look delicious and sensual from head to toe.
There is a certain sense of fantasy in the collection that found not only crystals and sequins set among the organza and lace, but butterflies, flowers and feathers are also tucked into the unique silhouettes.
Each couture gown seemed be a chapter in the story she was telling. Singular in design yet an intrical part of the whole. From the sweet dream of Precious with its volumes of pink sugar confection for a skirt and its corseted body, to the flapper girl-esque mini dress of Bea that drips in icy swags of crystals and silver set amongst delicate white flowers, each a dreamy reflection of the lady who is floating between Miss to Mrs.
