Luxury products are far more than just a product, they are a statement, a fashion expression in limited numbers. When something is luxurious we know that it is special and that it can be purchased only by a certain group of people. One of the most amazing luxury items made in the last decade is definitely the most expensive foosball table in the world. When people hear foosball table they assume it is a game played with family and friends, but this table is much more than that, it is a masterpiece which will leave you breathless.
11-The Beautiful Game
The world’s most expensive foosball table was created as a statement. The entire project was envisioned for the Milan Design Week in April, 2008 and it was made to celebrate the amazing modern European football stadiums. The table actually pays homage to the contemporary architecture, and the people behind the vision did an impressive job. The table was made by two Netherlands design companies, the GRO design and TIM model makers.
The entire table has a contemporary shape which resembles those inspirational European stadiums from top to bottom. The designers wanted to focus the public on the shape of the table and not on the colors so they made it with just two colors. When you are looking at it from the outside you will notice the smooth black color without any other tone and from the inside, the entire interior is a pure white.
On the field, which has no markings and no corners, there are only chrome plated rods and players, connected in one. You can’t see where the players end and the rods begin because they are covered together with the sleek chrome finish. The only real color on the table is found on player’s back – the red embedded numbers. Everything you see on the table is made by hand. Every rod, every player and every number is made by a professional, a master craftsman in his field.
The name of the table “11 – The Beautiful Game” is actually completely devoted to European football. The number 11 stands for the number of players in one team on the field and the rest – the beautiful game – refers to the European football, not foosball.
The price of the foosball table starts at 85.000€ and from there, it can only go higher. When we convert the price from Euros to US Dollars, the price is more than $100,000 which is not surprising for the most expensive foosball table. If you wish to have your own table like Louis Vuitton did, who ordered a bespoke version to grace their flagship store in Tokyo (customized leather handles paid tribute to their amazing craftsmanship), you will have to wait 12 weeks for it to be completed. It is a small amount of time for such a beautifully hand crafted table which looks so amazing as this one does, certainly most people wouldn’t mind waiting.
