The UK-based company, Oxford Fashion Studio presented eleven different emerging designers from all over the globe at New York Fashion Week on February 10th 2018 at Studio 450 which included one marquee and two group runway shows. The shows had everything from bridal gowns to men’s wear and women’s wear, to women’s shoes and even handbags. Nandi Madida’s womenswear collection had rich reds, deep browns and sunset orange with a splash of white and black. World renown Chinese-born designer Lan Yu’s namesake brand LANYU charmed the New York Fashion Week crowds once again with her runway debut of the Fall/Winter 2017 collection. The beautiful, feminine creations were inspired by her mother’s hometown of Suzhou. The city’s architecture, natural beauty and serene canals were the source of her vision for the 40 looks presented. The color palette based on her childhood memories sashayed across the catwalk in shades of mint and jade, powder pinks and sky tones. The School of Visual Arts’ special Public Art Installation curated by Linda Fargo, Senior Vice President and Fashion Director of Bergdorf Goodman, on Madison Avenue. Enjoy these amazing creations during New York Fashion Week!From September 8 to September 18, the work of 21 talented School of Visual Arts students will be displayed on Madison Avenue spanning between 57th & 79th Streets in an art installation entitled “The Language of Fashion”; a fun, artistic take on fashion during NYFW.
