25 years ago, William Goldberg recreated one of the world’s most beautiful diamonds the Ashoka. 

Named for second century BC Buddhist Emperor Ashoka, the diamond was said to possess the power to “remove sorrow and bring joy.” 

The original Ashoka disappeared for centuries and then sold to an anonymous bidder in 1988; its current whereabouts remain unknown.
