TECH: Sony’s Flagship Mini LED QLED TV BRAVIA 9

In 2024 the tech world saw incredible television launches from many brands, but the showstopper is by far the king of tv, Sony, with their BRAVIA 9. It’s the flagship mini-LED QLED tv of the year. Already chosen by many editors for its exceptional contrast with local dimming; closest than ever to an OLED tv.

Sony created a Monalisa of televisions, by advancing the local dimming technology which deeply enriches the picture quality and upscales any content that you are watching from low resolution up to 4K, thanks to its XR clear processor. Impressively the BRAVIA 9 handles blooming unlike any other mini-led tv on the market today. Making intergalactic movie scenes truly pop without blooming and its impressive SDR and HDR brightness. Available in three different sizes (65, 75 and 85 inches), and featuring Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, it’s well suited to make an impactful statement in your home theater.

I have even personally purchased the 75 inch in spec of BRAVIA 9, after owning another top brand equivalent, the differences are incomparable. I’m very impressed with how the BRAVIA 9 performs. Having 1920 dimming zones allows for incredible contrast ratio. There has been excellent response time when used for gaming. It pairs very well with the latest computer graphics cards and next gen gaming console. The tv doesn’t lose any picture degradation in gaming mode, which many other tv brands unfortunately do, thanks to the implementation of their reality creation setting available in the tv. The Sony BRAVIA 9 supports HDMI Forum VRR and G-SYNC Full Bandwidth and up to 4k @ 120Hz on two of its four HDMI ports.

The build quality of the BRAVIA 9 design has a durable and luxurious feel. Featuring clean, sleek lines and a thin screen depth, it stands on two pedestal feet that are adjustable and can allow you to fit a soundbar beneath. It has a built-in 70W 2.2.2 channel speaker system, and you can also use the TV as a center channel with any compatible soundbars.

In my experience the Sony BRAVIA 9 goes beyond my expectations and is recommend to any tech lover who is really looking to upgrade their entertainment system. Making gaming days jaw dropping and movie nights visually delicious, BRAVIA 9 delivers.
