LASVIT recently unveiled their latest design concept at the Czech Consulate in Milan as part of the Perspectives exhibition– A:Live & Fireborn. They showcased a virtual dream house where kinetic light breathed life into the spaces. A glittering, dancing lighting centerpiece whose movements endlessly captivates the eye like a chic kaleidoscopic artform. The concept was designed for hospitality spaces, private residences, and even luxury yachts, where different aesthetic styles can be achieved by changing the glass components.
“Life is never stagnant. On the contrary, it is in constant flux. Just as we are constantly moving and changing, so too does the A:Live installation. With a set of simple movements, it creates complex and seemingly living compositions,”
Stefan Mihailovič, LASVIT Designer
The A:Line is created from beautiful and massive hand-stamped strips of high quality optical glass, each are then hand polished and a variety of finishes are created; clear, softly smoked and light luminous amber shades. LASVIT created different combinations where the base on one side is plated with different semi-transparent coatings. This allows for a magical play-of-light when the very large ceiling mountings that are attached to motors begin to rotate.
Besides A:Live, the dream house experience also features Fireborn, a new design concept by LASVIT designer, Jana Růžičková. All glass is born of the four elements of fire, water, earth and air, but fire makes their fusion possible. Růžičková’s work draws on the unhinged creativity of Bohemian glassworks.
“Fireborn is an ode to the poetics of raw beauty of glass craftsmanship. We take the aesthetics of a Bohemian glassworks, with all its geometrical irregularities, its glass shards, its tumult, its hot air and heaving bodies, and transpose this unique atmosphere into some of the most elevated interiors in the world.”
-Jana Růžičková
The incredible collection unveiled in Italy spotlighted this extraordinary brand’s ability and deep understanding of their medium and their vision for the concepts of the future.
